Several documents were signed with American investors as part of Roundtable with the Head of State in New York

A ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place as part of the Investment Roundtable with the largest American corporations with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Thus, Samruk-Kazyna JSC and General Electric signed an Agreement on cooperation and partnership to foster exchange of experience in the development of electric power generation facilities.

NC KTZ JSC and Wabtec Corporation signed an Agreement on strategic cooperation in the production, supply and maintenance of locomotives, introducing digital solutions and using green technologies by switching locomotives to gas motor fuel.

A Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between NC KAZAKH JSC INVEST and General Electric regarding to the development and implementation of investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the localization of the production of medical equipment.    

Also, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC and Pfizer to localize the production of pneumococcal vaccine.

Three documents were concluded between NC QazaqGaz JSC and the American side. In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Honeywell Corporation on the localization of equipment assembly (such as meters), an automated process control system, purification, drying and processing of sulfur dioxide, digitalization, and personnel training.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Baker Hughes on the issues of localization of maintenance and repair of equipment in Kazakhstan, localization of training of specialists on the basis of Shymkent Training Facility, industrial generation of electricity from gas, and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions using the latest technologies.

Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Solar Turbines regarding to the industrial development and arrangement of gas fields, providing advisory services via remote connection to the InSight control program, modernization of existing stations, as well as expanding gas transmission infrastructure.

It should be noted that the Investment Roundtable with the participation of the Head of State was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United States, NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC jointly with the US Chamber of Commerce.

It’s worth noting that cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States is of an expanded strategic partnership. The United States is one of the largest investors in the Kazakhstan economy. The gross inflow of direct investments from the United States to Kazakhstan during the years of independence reached $57.5 billion. At the same time, in the first quarter of 2022, the inflow amounted to about $1.9 billion, which is twice as much as the same period of 2021 ($933 million). Currently, about 600 joint ventures with US capital are operating in Kazakhstan.
