Deputies about the prospects for the new Abai region

The Deputies of the reorganized East Kazakhstan Maslikhat addressed the key aspects of the socio-economic development of East Kazakhstan region and newly established Abai region, a correspondent of Khabar 24 reports.

They paid special attention to the budget approval of the two regions. In particular, in the next three years, 25 investment projects worth KZT 1 trillion are intended to be implemented in Abai region.

East Kazakhstan Regional Maslikhat has, in fact, been reorganized. Since the 8th of   June, 16 Deputies of the current composition will represent the interests of the newly established Abai region with the administrative center in Semey city. By the way, according to all financial forecasts, the new Abai region is considered to be economically promising.

Danial Akhmetov, Akim of East Kazakhstan region:

- During 2021-2025 years, in Abai region, it is planned to implement 25 projects worth KZT 1.1 trillion. Thanks to your work, a solid economic foundation has been created there.

According to the Deputies, the new Abai region is already self-sufficient. Aktogay Mining and Processing Complex, one of the world's largest processors of copper ores, operates on the territory of the region. The tourist cluster will also become the hallmark of Abai region. The Alakol’s Resorts have advanced today to the international standards. Over the past two years, KZT 7 billion has been subsidized for the improvement of the coast.

Inessa Chernysheva, a Deputy of Regional Maslikhat:

- I think that the division into regions is not a separation from each other. I think all connections are preserved. Anyway, we live in the same country, in the state, we have one task - to build New Kazakhstan, and I think that Abai region will achieve its best.

By the way, significant investments in social spheres, healthcare, education and housing construction will become promising sectors of the state financing in both East Kazakhstan and Abai regions.
