World Investor Week starts in AIFC

World Investor Week is holding in the Astana International Financial Center from September 30 to October 6, 2019 in order to raise awareness about the protection of consumers of financial services, the basics of investing and the conditions for doing business, Yelorda Info reports with reference to the press service of the Financial Center.

World Investor Week is held annually under the auspices of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) involving financial regulators from 80 countries on 6 continents. IOSCO is an international organization uniting stock market regulators. IOSCO members regulate more than 95% of the global securities markets in over 115 jurisdictions. World Investor Week reflects AIFC's commitment to the IOSCO standard for the protection of consumers of financial services. Last year, over 3,500 participants in 7 cities of Kazakhstan took part in World Investor Week under the auspices of IOSCO”, is reported.

This year, the events within the framework of World Investor Week is holding from September 30 to October 6 in 6 cities of Kazakhstan as part of the Republican Campaign Investor Awareness Roadshow: on September, 30 - Petropavlovsk; on October, 1 - Aktau; on October, 2 - Karaganda; on October, 3 - Turkestan; on October, 4 - Almaty; on October, 6 – Nur-Sultan.

The 2019 World Investor Week program of AIFC will be held in the format of presentations and information sessions for academic and business circles. The sessions for students and faculty of regional universities are holding in the first part of the day focusing on financial and investment education of youth and academic circles as well as informing about the basics of investment. Workshops will also be held as part of the initiative for public officials - students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In the second part of the day, there will be presentations for regional business covering such issues as protection of consumers of financial services, the AIFC business opportunities, the peculiarities of issuing Green and Islamic bonds, the benefits and the procedure for registering in AIFC and educational programs of the Center. The event’s speakers will be AIFC experts on regulation of financial services, financial technologies, issuance of Green and Islamic bonds, investment in the securities market, as well as continuous professional development.

The Islamic Finance Week is also holding in Nur-Sultan and Almaty cities as part of International Investor Week. Master classes and trainings will be held on topical issues of the development of the Islamic finance industry in Kazakhstan and around the world. The Islamic Finance Week will be completed by the Islamic Finance Day in Almaty (on October, 4) and Nur-Sultan (on October, 6).

The final event of World Investor Week is Investor Day Conference takes place on October, 6 in Nur-Sultan city. At the conference, invited AIFC speakers and experts will talk about a wide range of financial services, investment tools and business opportunities in AIFC in terms of protecting the rights of consumers of financial services.
