Kazakhstan delegation is attending the 15th Central Asia - the Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum
In Busan, on October 25, 2022 - Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi participated in the opening ceremony of the 15th Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum (CARK), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the Mayor's Office of the South Korean city of Busan.
The event is also attended by the heads of the Foreign Affairs Agencies of South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the Mayor of Busan, the representatives of interested government agencies and companies of the participating countries of the Forum.
The agenda of the meeting includes the issues of cooperation in the sectors of healthcare, tourism, ecology, digital cooperation and economic security.
The results of the Forum are also expected to provide an adoption of the Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea, as well as the Action Plan of the CARK Secretariat for 2023.
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Pak Jin, during which the parties congratulated each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, discussed topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The Ministers highlighted the importance of further strengthening the expanded strategic partnership and the exchange of visits at the highest and high levels. The President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Sok-yeol is expected to visit Kazakhstan next year. Pak Jin congratulated the Kazakhstan delegation on the Republic Day and stressed that Kazakhstan is a key partner of South Korea in Central Asia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan also met with the Mayor of Busan, Park Heong-joon, who thanked the Kazakhstan side for the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Busan.
