The State-of-the-Nation Address by the Head of State to the People of Kazakhstan attracted the attention of Foreign Diplomatic Corps

Nur-Sultan, September 1, 2022 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan hosted a joint online viewing of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s State-of-the-Nation Address to the People of Kazakhstan “A Fair State. One Nation. Prosperous Society”.

Speaking to the participants of the event, Roman Vasilenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, stressed that this State-of-the-Nation Address is a new important starting point for large-scale reforms in Kazakhstan, which were initiated by the Head of State in March this year after the tragic January events.

Foreign diplomats showed keen interest in the new program of political and economic reforms. Thus, the Ambassador of Palestine - doyen of the foreign diplomatic corps Montaser Abu Zeid noted that “new reforms and initiatives will further enhance political and diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and other countries.” He also expressed hope that “The New Kazakhstan, which reflects reforms and recent constitutional amendments, will offer new opportunities for political, economic and humanitarian relations.”

In turn, US Congressmen James Panneta and Thomas Suozzi, who were on a working visit to our country, welcomed the new reform initiatives of the Head of our state. They specifically emphasized the readiness of Washington to continue supporting the processes of democratization and the strengthening of human rights in Kazakhstan.

In comments to the media, the Head of the European Union Delegation, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, also expressed support for the social and economic reforms of the leader of Kazakhstan, focusing on simplifying procedures in the investment projects enabling further to attract foreign companies. Ambassador of Belarus Pavel Utyupin stressed that the President's State-of-the-Nation Address is a call for the diplomatic corps to be more actively engaged in joint investments in the economy of Kazakhstan.
