The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan negotiating with large investors
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has been working on reviving the investment climate in the country. Diplomats have already held talks with representatives of 700 large companies, a correspondent of Khabar 24 reports.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Almas Aidarov, the Ministry faces a big task - to prove that Kazakhstan is stable in terms of its investment obligations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for instance, met with the Regional Director of Exxon Mobil. It should be noted that this largest oil corporation has been operating in Kazakhstan since 1993. The volume of investments during this period amounted to $22 billion.
Almas Aidarov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
- The members of the Council of Investors, I am currently holding meetings with all these companies. These are about 30 companies. Abroad, our institutions, our Ambassadors hold meetings with the Head Offices of companies located there. We covered about 700 companies. What about intention? … Well, there are companies that have some worries, such companies as Exxon Mobil. They look more globally, they look not only at the situation in Kazakhstan, but also discuss the situation around us. In general, we look at the figures that we now have, for example, the growth of investments in the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to 50%.
