INTERNATIONAL IFPA and KAZAKH INVEST signed a Memorandum of Understanding

The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the areas of attracting foreign investors to the food industry were discussed during the meeting of the CEO of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC Meirzhan Yusupov with the Director General of the INTERNATIONAL ISLAMIC FOOD PROCESSING ASSOCIATION Sheikh Bilal Khan.  

As part of the meeting, the head of the non-profit organization IFPA Sheikh Bilal Khan expressed his interest in providing cooperation and support to attract the Islamic finance and investment into the agri-food sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to promote business relations and strategic partnerships in the food industry.

Moreover, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between food producers in the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Sheikh Bilal Khan noted the possibility of assisting Kazakhstan in eliminating trade barriers between the OIC member countries.  

During the negotiations, the CEO of NC KAZAKH JSC Meirzhan Yusupov gave a detailed account of the system of the state support of foreign investors that includes various industry benefits and preferences. He also stressed the possibility of cooperation in the need to develop the agro-industrial complex, as one of the most important and promising niches of the processing sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that along with the implementation of the projects in the food industry, the parties discussed a set of topics related to the creation of an Agricultural Investment Fund.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed enabling NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC to share agri-food investment projects with IFPA to attract Islamic investments, as well as to promote them in the OIC and IOFS member countries.
