Kazakhstan and Mongolia intend to expand economic cooperation

Ulan Bator, May 11, 2021 - Ambassador of Kazakhstan Zhalgas Adilbayev met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Nyamdorzh Ankhbayar.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat informed the talker about the domestic COVID-19 vaccine QazVac, developed by the experts of the Scientific Research Institute of Biosafety Problems of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the process of its registration in the register of the World Health Organization.

The Ambassador informed the Mongolian side about the gradual political reforms of Kazakhstan aimed at further democratization and interaction with civil society within the framework of the concept of a “hearing state”.

Also, the diplomat stressed that the ongoing reforms are crucial from the point of view of further institutional development of the political system of Kazakhstan as well as improving the human rights protection system.

Furthermore, Zh. Adilbayev briefed on the new Foreign Policy Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2030, adopted with regard to the international experience in developing political documents. It was highlighted that this Concept was supplemented by new principles of the country's foreign policy, including assistance in building a stable, fair and democratic world order, promoting the external openness of the state and the inextricable link between security and development at all levels of international relations.

A constructive exchange of views took place on the issues related to enhancing political dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as providing mutual support in promoting initiatives as part of international organizations, such as the UN, CICA, OSCE, IAEA and WTO.

In turn, N. Ankhbayar confirmed that the Mongolian side supports Kazakhstan's initiatives within the framework of international organizations and is interested in expanding multilateral cooperation. Additionally, in the context of bilateral cooperation, the Mongolian diplomat stressed that it is necessary to consider the possibilities of promoting specific joint projects in the trade and economic areas and the gradual restoration of regular air services interrupted by the global coronavirus pandemic.

The parties agreed that Kazakhstan and Mongolia have sufficient resources to build up trade, economic and investment cooperation.
