Prospects for bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein discussed in Vaduz

Vaduz, May 11, 2021 - During a working visit to Vaduz, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Switzerland and concurrently to Liechtenstein, Alibek Bakayev, was received by the Head of the Government of the Principality, Daniel Risch.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the current agenda and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador also held a number of meetings with the official and business circles of Liechtenstein.

In particular, the Kazakh diplomat discussed with the Mayor of Vaduz Manfred Bischoff the possibilities of establishing direct contacts between the capitals of the two countries in the economy, finance, culture and tourism.

At the meeting with the Director of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Brigitte Haas, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding the contractual basis for the institutional deepening of cooperation.

It should be noted that the business circles of Liechtenstein, a recognized world-class financial center, are interested in the prospects of cooperation with the Astana International Financial Center. A detailed discussion of this issue took place during the meeting of Ambassador A. Bakayev with the top management of the banking holding LGT Group.

Along with the financial sector, the Liechtenstein's economy is based on the industry (up to 40% of GDP). During the visit, the Ambassador held negotiation on the possibilities for expanding cooperation with the leadership of Hilti, Balzers Optics, Ospelt Food, Hoval and Ivoclar Vivadent, which are the leaders in their industries at the global level.

The Liechtenstein business community familiarized with the advantages of the investment climate and export potential of Kazakhstan and was invited to participate in the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan.

One of the important points of the visit was the discussion of the exchange in the culture and art between Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein. Director of the Liechtenstein National Museum Rainer Volkommer and Ambassador A. Bakayev discussed the possibilities of holding historical and art exhibitions, dedicated to Kazakhstan in Vaduz.

The visit took place with the active participation and assistance of the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Liechtenstein Volker Schmidt.
