Enhancing the attraction of foreign investment

An online meeting with the heads of Kazakhstan foreign institutions on attracting foreign investment chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi took place on March 10, 2021 in Nur-Sultan city. The leadership of the branch and sectoral Ministries, AIFC JSC and the representatives of Kazakh Invest JSC abroad also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of enhancing and revitalizing the work of foreign missions in the investment direction in light of the tasks to increase the volume of foreign direct investment attracted to the country by 2025 to $30 billion. In this context, it was stressed that the work of the diplomatic missions will be assessed by the end of the year against the achievement of key indicators, including as part of the already adopted Country Investment Programs.

The heads of diplomatic missions got acquainted thoroughly with new approaches to work with investors and support of investment projects in the country, developed on behalf of the Head of State within the framework of an extended meeting of the Government held on January 26, 2021, as well as with the issues of attracting investments linked to the deputy executives of central state agencies, local executive agencies and national companies.  

To continue enhancing the interdepartmental interaction and coordination of the work of Embassies on the investment and economic track, it was agreed to hold targeted meetings of foreign missions with relevant Departments, Akimats and Organizations on a regular basis via video conferencing.
