Dubai Global Partnership Series: Kazakhstan - Focus on Kazakhstan

The online meeting took place on February 24, 2021. A special emphasis was placed on the opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Kazakhstan in various areas, such as processing, construction, agriculture and information technology.

Furthermore, during the event, the participants discussed trade opportunities in different directions, asked questions to representatives of various trade bodies and learned about the latest developments in bilateral economic relations.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Majid Al Gurayr, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE Madiyar Menilbekov, Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alisher Abdykadyrov, the representative of Kazakh Invest Azamat Kozhanov, Head of FDI Dubai Fahad Al Gergawi, as well as Director of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Omar Khan.

“Taking into account the sharpening of global and regional competition to attract investments, there is a need to introduce new approaches to active work with investors and to strengthen support for investment projects,” said Azamat Kozhanov. For this reason, a new algorithm for investment management and targeted work with investors will be introduced.

Kazakhstan is interested in attracting investors from the UAE. Earlier, the Emirates side was offered 30 projects in the agro-industrial complex, petrochemicals, mining metallurgy and pharmaceuticals. To date, a targeted study of these proposals is underway jointly with the business representatives from the UAE.

It's worth noting that the webinar was attended by over 200 participants from 19 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Algeria, China and others.
