206 industrial projects to launch by the end of this year

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development jointly with the regions has developed Industrialization Maps, taking into account the specifics and competitive advantages of the regions that cover various industrial sectors. In 2020, it is planned to commission 206 projects in the regions totaling KZT995 billion creating more than 18,000 new permanent jobs. This will increase production output by KZT1.3 trillion, exports - by KZT325 billion. That was announced by the head of the Ministry Beibut Atamkulov at a government meeting, a correspondent of the Kapital.kz business information center reports.

“The largest number of new industries is in the agro-industrial complex and food industry - 76 projects, building materials and mechanical engineering - 38 and 19 projects, respectively. For 8 months of this year, 28 projects were put into operation amounting KZT204 billion with the creation of 4.300 new jobs,” Beibut Atamkulov said.

In the third quarter, it is expected to launch 14 projects worth over KZT97 billion. The bulk of the projects will be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2020.

“In general, the implementation of projects remains on track. Current problematic issues are addressed jointly with regional akimats,” he explained.

The investment leaders are Karaganda (KZT203.1 billion), Aktobe (KZT138.3 billion) and Almaty regions (KZT104.1 billion).

In monotowns, 15 projects are being launched with the investment volume accounting for more than KZT132 billion, with the creation of about 1,000 permanent jobs. 77 projects worth KZT376 billion will be launched in rural areas with the creation of 5.800 permanent jobs.

Additionally, it is planned to output new products that has not been produced before in Kazakhstan, namely, fuel assemblies, 7 types of cable products, new types of mining and road equipment, new types of composite coagulants, gas analyzers, free-flow reinforced concrete pipes of smaller and larger diameters and new types of fertilizers.
