The National Bank issued investment coins ALTYN BARYS and KUMIS BARYS

On August 17, 2020, the National Bank of Kazakhstan issued investment coins ALTYN BARYS and KUMIS BARYS with 2020 year of coinage from gold in the amount of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 tenge and from silver in the amount of 1, 2, 5 and 10 tenge, the press service of the financial regulator reports.

The design of investment coins ALTYN BARYS and KUMIS BARYS changed the inscriptions in the official language and improved sculptural images on the coins.

Investment coins are gold and silver coins of high quality of the purest tint 999.9. Their main purpose is to invest and save money.

Today, there are several major brands of investment coins - Krugerrand (South Africa), American Eagle (USA), Vienna Philharmonic (Austria), Panda (China), Maple Leaf (Canada).

The first Kazakh investment coins JIBEK JOLY (Silk Way) were issued in 1996. Since 2009, due to a change in design, investment coins ALTYN BARYS and KUMIS BARYS with different weight characteristics have been issued.

Features of the investment coins:

- unlimited issues;

- manufactured without the use of proof technology;

- receiving income depending on the cost and weight of the metal from which the coin is made;

- repurchased by the National Bank in accordance with the Rules of Sale and Repurchase, regardless of the condition (scratches, patina, etc.) since the repurchase is calculated by the weight of the metal contained in the coin;

- are not subject to value added tax.

Investment coins of gold and silver of all amounts are required to be accepted at their face value across the Republic of Kazakhstan for all types of payments, as well as for crediting to bank accounts and for transfer, without restriction, are exchanged and changed in all banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Investment coins ALTYN BARYS and KUMIS BARYS are made at the Kazakhstan Mint.
