Kazakhstan's investment opportunities presented at Toronto Global Forum 2019 in Canada

KAZAKH INVEST presented Kazakhstan's investment opportunities and promising sectors for investment, as well as told foreign businessmen about measures of state support of investors during the annual global economic forum Toronto Global Forum 2019 in Canada.

The major event was attended by heads of states of various countries, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, international organizations and heads of central banks.

Within the framework of the forum, the delegation consisting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Canada Akylbek Kamaldinov and representatives of KAZAKH INVEST held more than 30 meetings with the heads of various transnational corporations and large companies from Canada, the USA and Latin America. During the meetings, business representatives learned about niche investment projects of Kazakhstan in the field of agribusiness, gas chemistry, energy and mining and metallurgy.

So, during negotiations with the representatives of Gurnet Capital Point (the USA), they discussed the issues of creating a medical hub in Kazakhstan, in particular, the implementation of innovative projects in the field of pharmaceuticals and medicine.

“World leaders and multinational corporations are now in search of promising new markets in developing countries. In turn, Kazakhstan is a very promising country in the Central Asian region for expanding our production in various directions”, said Christopher A. Viehbacher, the Managing Partner at Gurnet Capital Point.

In addition, delegates discussed promising projects in the field of cattle meat processing and soybean processing as part of the meeting with Argentine investors from Integra Capital.

“Jointly with our American partners, we are ready to study Kazakhstan projects and consider Kazakhstan as a platform for implementing new investment opportunities. In the near future, we would like to visit the production site in Kazakhstan and get to know the owners of the companies by the end of the year”, said Dr. José Luis Manzano, the President of Integra Capital.

Following the meetings, a number of companies expressed their interest in the projects, such as methanol production in West Kazakhstan region, localization of special equipment, lithium mining and processing, etc. Also, new trends in the field of digitalization and cybersecurity were discussed with leading global companies.
