KAZAKH INVEST presented Kazakhstan's investment opportunities at the First Caspian Economic Forum 2019

NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC presented Kazakhstan's investment opportunities and the national pavilion at the First Caspian Economic Forum in the Turkmenbashi city (Turkmenistan).

During the event that was held with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, representatives of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC highlighted Kazakhstan’s investment advantages and held a number of negotiations with potential investors.

So, during the negotiations with Calik Holding, the possibilities of cooperation in the textile industry were discussed. The Turkish holding operates in 22 countries in various fields, the company has more than 30,000 employees. Gap Pazarlama, which is a subsidiary of the holding, is one of the largest in the textile industry and has production facilities in Central Asia, the Far East and Africa.

“We already have four plants in Turkmenistan. Now we are seriously considering the possibility of investing in Kazakhstan, but for this we need a reliable local partner. We hope that our cooperation with KAZAKH INVEST will bring fruitful results”, said Onur Yuksel, Deputy Director General of Gap Pazarlama. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on further negotiations on specific projects in the textile industry.

As part of the meeting with the Lighting Technologies group of companies, Russian investors expressed their readiness to build a plant for the production of lighting devices and lighting control systems in Almaty region. The company plans to develop product exports to Central Asian countries, including Mongolia and Azerbaijan.

Negotiations were also held with representatives of one of the leading Russian enterprises for the production of chemical plant protection products, organic mineral and micronutrient fertilizers, seeds of leguminous crops and sugar beets for agriculture - Schelkovo Agrochem JSC. Businessmen expressed their interest in increasing the capacity of the plant for the production of crop protecting agents in Stepnogorsk.

During the bilateral meeting with the Korib group of companies, which implements projects in the automotive industry, entrepreneurs announced their interest in opening production in Kazakhstan. Also, Elabuga Battery Plant LLC for the production of automotive batteries is ready to consider investing in Kazakhstan. “For us, Kazakhstan is a promising market. We are ready to cooperate with KAZAKH INVEST and consider investment opportunities in our field,” said Oleg Korobchenko, CEO.

It is worth noting that the organizers of the national stand on the Kazakhstan side were the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MIIDRK), Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan.

The First Caspian Economic Forum aims to discuss the development of trade and economic, transport cooperation, creation of conditions for large projects, discussions on the role of the economy of the Caspian region in the global context, investment attractiveness in various sectors of the economy of the Caspian states. The forum is attended by more than 10 countries, such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tatarstan and others.

The Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan was established on July 29, 2014 and is a 100% subsidiary of Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main task of the Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce is to represent the interests of Kazakhstan business in the foreign economic sphere.
