Kazakh Invest presented Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities at SPIEF-2019

Kazakhstan delegation took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. During the economic event with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, representatives of NC Kazakh Invest Ltd held a series of negotiations with leading companies and organizations of Russia.

Thus, in the course of negotiations with the VIS Group holding, opportunities for cooperation in the field of infrastructure were discussed. The company created over 70 large energy, industrial, transport, social and oil and gas infrastructure facilities in 23 cities of Russia and Europe.

Meetings were also held with a representative of the Russian food company PJSC Cherkizovo Group, being a major producer and processor of poultry meat, pork and fodder. The foreign side noted the importance of the export potential of agricultural products to the markets of the EEU countries and China. As a result, agreements were reached on further negotiations on specific projects in the field of poultry meat and pork production.

Following the talks with the Japanese company United Managers Japan, which is engaged in the construction of high-tech greenhouse complexes, investors expressed their willingness to create a greenhouse with an area of up to 10 hectares at the initial stage. In case of successful implementation of the project and the establishment of markets, the company is ready to expand its presence. It should be noted that the implementation of large-scale projects in the field of greenhouse farming will begin in Kazakhstan in 2019. The Russian company ECO-Culture plans to build the largest greenhouse complex in Kazakhstan on 500 hectares worth USD1.1 billion. And Turkish investors are planning to build 200 hectares of greenhouses worth about USD 200 million.

It was also important to strengthen business relations with the organizers of the event - the Roscongress Foundation. The Foundation is one of the largest companies organizing congress and exhibition events in Russia. The agreements were secured by a memorandum, where the sides agreed on a reciprocal basis to exchange information on the conduct of major investment events and to provide support in their organization and participation.

It is worth noting that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has been held since 1997. Over the years, the Forum became the leading global platform for meetings of business representatives and discussion of key economic issues facing emerging markets and the world as a whole. By the way, this year, according to the organizers, over 17,000 participants from 143 countries took part in SPIEF.
