Investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belgium discussed in Brussels
Over 70 companies of the Kingdom are working in various sectors of our economy, Khabar 24 informs.
This is the transport-logistical infrastructure, production of building materials and medical equipment.
Only over the last ten years, the volume of the Belgian investment in Kazakhstan exceeded USD7 billion. The trade turnover between the countries increased by 41% compared to the last year and accounted for over USD374 million. Exports from Kazakhstan to Belgium almost doubled, and imports grew more than by two fifths.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Belgium Aygul Kuspan briefed businessmen on the basic economic indicators and investment attraction of our country. She invited them to create joint ventures, taking into account the availability of great transport-logistical opportunities and the access to the general market of the Eurasian Economic Union. With the support of the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency and the trading mission of Belgium in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the Belgian businessmen and investors will visit our country in the beginning of June.

- Now we try to disseminate the information on Kazakhstan’s investment climate and the investment opportunities as widely as possible in order to arouse the Belgian companies’ interest. We constantly inform about preferences, the legislation, conditions, as well as on strategic projects. The statistics of the National Bank shows that there is an annual growth of attraction of the Belgian investment as well as trade between Kazakhstan and Belgium. It is already a good indicator; it annually grows by 20 %.

- Cooperation with Kazakhstan increases as well as the interest of the Belgian companies in your country. But we also see today a number of other opportunities in the sphere of development of new technologies, medicine and environment protection. A number of niche companies can inject new vision in the know-how, they can not only export but also train the personnel and share technologies. Opening of EAEU market will facilitate the work of Belgian companies in Kazakhstan for two reasons. The first is a uniform certification of production. Earlier the companies had to be certified in each country. And the second is the availability of huge potential of the Eurasian market in Kazakhstan and Russia, and also in other neighbouring countries.
