B. Sagintayev participated in midterm meeting of Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

A midterm meeting of Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place today in Astana with participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The meeting considered issues of the implementation of the investment policy, development of the labour legislation, human capital and recruitment of foreign workers, sectors of energy, ecology and oil-and-gas. It also reviewed the course of preparation for the 32nd plenary session of the Council.

Speeches on the ongoing work were delivered by the Minister of Investment and Development Zh.Kasymbek, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population M. Abylkassymova, Deputy-Minister of Education and Science B.Asylova, Chairman of the Board of Association of Kazakhstan Foreign Investors’ Council A. Preimanis, Co-Chairs from the foreign side E. Dosymbekov, Ch. Gomez, and also the Director of Association of Ch. Z.Baidasheva.

Participants of the meeting discussed areas being implemented jointly with foreign investors, and highlighted the outlines of the further work. The Minister of National Economy T. Suleimenov, the Minister of Finance A. Smailov, and the Minister of Energy K. Bozumbayev commented on promising projects.

Let’s recall that Foreign Investors’ Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established by the Decree of the Head of the state in 1998. The Council consists of the heads of more than 30 foreign companies and international organizations. The key goal of the Council is to develop recommendations and proposals on determining the basic directions of Kazakhstan investment policy, improving the investment climate, streamlining  the regulatory legal framework  for investment, promoting foreign companies to diversify the economy, to industrialize the industrial sector, to develop small and medium business, to integrate Kazakhstan’s economy into world economic processes, as well as to implement major investment programs and projects of international importance.

With a view to further updating and boosting  the competitiveness of the country, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the interested state agencies is conducting the work on improving the regulatory environment, ensuring the role of law and the quality of public administration, reforming the education system taking into account of modernization and digitization of the economy, developing human capital, and bringing the environmental legislation into line with the OECD  standards and ensuring the international competitiveness of leading industries of Kazakhstan.
