Korean investors to construct a wind power plant in Kazakhstan

Korean investors will build a high-efficiency wind power equipment manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan, Khabar – 24 informs. 

This equipment is intended to be manufactured and sold under Made in Kazakhstan brand. The corresponding memorandum between the two parties was signed today. In addition, it is planned to construct a solar power station with capacity of 10 MW. It will be located in Zhambyl settlement of Turkestan region. Almost USD15 million is allocated for the project. It is expected to launch in 2020.

John Yong Sun, investor:

- We have been working with Kazakhstan since 2008 from the moment when we built the Kazakhstan-Korean Medical Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk city. Now we intend to develop here the solar and wind electric power. With our technologies and your opportunities it is possible to make products of the world level. We will start with the development of Turkestan region and construction of Green city, as well as we will introduce energy systems on electricity storage and sales.

Bakhytbek Tanaguzov, akim of Baidibek district of Turkestan region:

- This will be a 10 MW power station, yet we plan to increase its capacity in the future. The preparatory works are currently underway, the Korean investors came to our region to get acquainted with the district, with the population. It is also a great assistance for us.
