East Kazakhstan has started building an electric power station with a capacity of 30 MW per year

An electric power station with a capacity of 30 MW per is under construction in Zharma district of East Kazakhstan region. 

The project, worth KZT 17 billion, will be implemented with the support of foreign investors. The works are already underway in the area of 66 hectares of Zhalgyz-tobe settlement. It is planned to launch the station in August next year. In addition, the district intends to start building a wind-driven electric power station.

Nurlan Sydykov, akim of Zharma district: 

- We met with the investors at the EXPO in Astana. Then, we signed the memorandum of construction of this very solar electric plant. This is the first in our region.

Daniyar Seitenov, the representative of the investment company:

- Implementing this project, we try to increase a share of participation of renewable energy in the total generation of the country. In the second, it will create additional jobs. At the moment of construction there will be approximately 140 workers. During the operation, approximately 10-15 persons will work a shift.
