Industrialization program positively effects on stability and growth of processing sector

That was announced by the Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek, speaking before the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He said that the second five-year period of the industrialization has started in 2015, so that the implementation of the State program is summed up in comparison with 2015.

“The implementation of the Program positively effects on stability and positive dynamics of growth of the processing sector. So, the share of the processing industry in the gross national product grew from 11,6 % for 3 months in 2015 to 12,9 % for 3 months in 2018, in the industry - from 39,5 % for 3 months in 2015 to 40,9 % for 3 months in 2018, in the export - from 24,4 % for 2 months 2015 to 28,7 % for 2 months 2018, in the inflow of direct foreign investments from 15,5 % for 3 months 2015 to 17,6 % for 3 months 2018”, - Zhenis Kasymbek said.

Besides, the industrialization contributes to an increase in the number of enterprises in the processing industry, oriented towards finished-product output (the chemical industry, mechanical engineering, of furniture, building materials, etc.). So that, 3,500 operating enterprises has been created in addition in the processing sectors if to compare the first half-year of 2018 with 2010.

The growth is provided basically due to an increase in the number of enterprises in the mechanical engineering (increased by 805), the food-processing industry (increased by  545), production of building materials (increased by  514), the total share of which in the total growth rate  of operating enterprises of the processing industry amounted to more than 50 %. The volume of export of the processing output on the average on the Republic for 2 months of 2018 grew by 20,5 % compared to the same period of 2015 and made up USD 2,5 billion.  

“The products are currently exported to 123 countries with almost 800 classification lines. Some classification lines have discovered new commodity markets. For example, in 2018 we have started to deliver the machine-building products and building materials to Uzbekistan, the chemical products to Ukraine”, - the Minister told about the export.

According to Zhenis Kasymbek, the food industry products continues to be in demand abroad, the total volume of export accounted for USD 112 million. In particular, deliveries of meat products have started to Iran, Bahrain, the export of meat products, animal and vegetable oils grew to Russia, vegetable oil to China, sugar to Uzbekistan.
