President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
During the meeting, the Heads of States discussed thoroughly the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Qatar cooperation.
The leaders reaffirmed their mutual desire to strengthen trade and economic ties, as well as implement joint investment projects.
Welcoming Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar for the invitation and warm welcome. Speaking about the prospects for economic cooperation, the Head of State stressed the importance of increasing the indicators of mutual trade between the two countries.
The President highlighted great opportunities for strengthening relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar in sectors of mutual interest.
He proposed to intensify interaction between the Governments and business circles of the two countries.
– We have a number of investment projects that we are ready to discuss together with you today. In this direction, Kazakhstan companies intend to closely cooperate with Qatari entrepreneurs, the Head of State emphasized.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited the Emir of Qatar to make an official visit to Kazakhstan at a convenient time for him. In turn, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani announced Doha's interest in developing multifaceted economic and investment cooperation with Kazakhstan.
- Kazakhstan’s participation in today's economic forum is of great honor for me. We have a very good relationship of trust and we are open to the implementation of joint projects, especially in agriculture. This direction is a priority for our country. We will soon send a special group for a detailed discussion of joint projects in the agro-industrial complex, - said the Emir of Qatar.
Following the talks, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed gratitude for the invitation and confirmed his intention to visit Kazakhstan in the near future.
