Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting of the Council for Investment Climate Advancement to address topical issues of international economic cooperation, primeminister.kz reports.
The event was attended by Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of Kazakhstan Doris Bradbury, the British Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Kathy Leach, the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan Kestutis Jankauskas, EBRD Director for Kazakhstan Hussein Ozhan, Head of the OECD Eurasia Division William Thompson, Managing Director of NCOC Olivier Lazar, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Temirtau Biju Nair, Regional Director of Philip Morris International Juan Carlos Escobar, as well as heads of central government agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting participants discussed the impact of the current geopolitical situation on logistics and banking for the investment community of Kazakhstan. It was noted that transport and logistics systems have become today the most vulnerable sector of international economic relations.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan stressed that, despite external economic shocks, the Government has all the necessary tools and resources to overcome possible crisis phenomena.
“All the recommendations voiced today will be elaborated and taken into account in the work of the Government,” Alikhan Smailov emphasized.
