Kazakhstan presented its investment and trade opportunities to the Chilean business community

The Federation of Industry of Chile (SOFOFA) hosted a Roundtable on Investment and Trade Cooperation called “Kazakhstan and Chile: opportunities for cooperation in agriculture, mining and logistics.” We remind that, SOFOFA unites companies and trade unions related to the local industrial sector. 20 companies took part in the last meeting in Santiago.

Opening the event, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Argentina and Chile concurrently, Bolat Nusupov, briefed the audience on the current state and prospects for further development of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chile, with an emphasis on the existing investment potential for interaction in the agro-industrial complex and trade, mining and logistics.

In turn, SOFOFA Political Director Rodrigo Mujica highly appreciated the potential of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chile and offered to exchange business missions in order to further expand partnership.

According to him, there are currently good opportunities for building up contacts both at the level of official agencies and business circles of the two countries.

During the event, the representative of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC Diana Ablyakimova informed of the investment policy of Kazakhstan, efforts taken to improve the investment climate and new support tools for potential investors, and also presented investment proposals for Chilean companies.

Aibek Saginayev, Managing Director of the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center, elaborated on the trade, economic, transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan, and also presented promising commodity groups of Kazakhstani products for export to the Chilean market.

Following the event, they discussed and exchanged views on new ways and opportunities for expanding business cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chile in order to increase trade and investment activity.

It should be noted that the Roundtable was organized by the Federation of Industry of Chile (SOFOFA) jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Brazil, Argentina and Chile concurrently.
