Estonian entrepreneurs get familiar with Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities

Tallinn, April 25, 2022 – Estonian enterprises of the agricultural, financial, engineering and chemical sectors of the local economy joined a webinar organized by the Estonian Chamber for Commerce and Industry, Kazakh Invest National Company and the Embassies of the two countries to present the investment potential of the Kazakhstani market.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the prospects of some sectors of the Kazakhstan economy, Kazakhstan’s investment policy, niche areas and other practical information regarding the conditions for running business in the country.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurlan Seitimov spoke about the ongoing political and socio-economic reforms in Kazakhstan, which should help increase the investment attractiveness of the country and announced plans for the further development of Kazakhstan-Estonian trade and economic cooperation.

Furthermore, the Project Manager of Kazakh Invest, Anar Mekebayeva, gave details of creating a favorable investment climate in Kazakhstan as well as applying various preferences to foreign investors.

Moreover, the representatives of the National Company answered the urgent questions of Estonian entrepreneurs regarding certain rules for working on the Kazakhstani market. The parties agreed to continue the practice of organizing joint investment webinars, which is dictated by the growth of mutual interest in cooperation.

According to Toomas Tiers, Ambassador of Estonia to Kazakhstan, “Kazakhstan has been going through significant transformations and it is Estonia's biggest partner in Central Asia.”

A similar opinion was expressed by the representatives of the Estonian Chamber for Commerce and Industry. “The interest of Estonian enterprises in Kazakhstan is growing, and ties between the business communities of the two countries are also increasing,” said Margus Ilmjärv, the Chair of the Representative Office of the Chamber for Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Estonia, who intends to organize a visit of Estonian entrepreneurs’ delegation to Almaty in May 2022.
