Business circles of Qatar have a stake in implementation of a number of large investment projects in Kazakhstan
The CEO of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC Meirzhan Yusupov, on the Kazakhstan delegation, participated in the XX International Forum in Doha, as part of the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi to the State of Qatar.
This year, the representatives of over 600 delegations from all over the world, including the Heads of the Governments, Foreign Ministries, representatives of international organizations and the global expert community, as well as politicians and entrepreneurs, exchanged views and discussed the transformation facing the modern era. Moreover, they discussed such important areas as geopolitical alliances and international agreements, the financial system and economic development, cyber and food security, as well as sustainable development and climate change.
As part of the Forum, the Head of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan held bilateral talks with the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The parties highlighted the strengthening of bilateral cooperation over the past few years, discussed the current state and prospects for further development of Kazakhstan-Qatari cooperation, in particular the strengthening of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
As Mukhtar Tleuberdi noted, “Qatar is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world. An open and trusting dialogue has been established between our countries at the highest political level. We are sure that by joint efforts we will advance our cooperation to a qualitatively new level of development.”
The issues of creating a joint investment fund and implementing a number of major investment projects in the mining industry, agriculture, healthcare and tourism, as well as projects as part of Public-Private Partnerships were discussed during the meetings of the representatives of the Kazakhstan delegation chaired by Mukhtar Tleuberdi with the CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority Mr. Mansoor Bin Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, the CEO of the Qatari Businessmen Association, the Founder of Faisal Holding H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani and the Chair of Power International Holding Moutaz Al-Khayyat.
Furthermore, the Chair of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev and the CEO of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC Meirzhan Yusupov held a number of meetings with the Founders of Qatari companies during the visit.
Meirzhan Yusupov provided his partners from Qatar with detailed information on the Kazakhstan’s investment attractiveness and discussed the possibilities of implementing investment cooperation projects in the agriculture, construction, tourism, etc.
In particular, a meeting with Mubarak Rashid Al Sahouti (HassadFood company) and the CEO of its subsidiary Widam Food, Al Noubay Al Marri, highlighted that Kazakhstan, with its strategic location, stable political system and exceptional potential in the agricultural sector, is considered to be a reliable supplier for the Qatari food market.
Widam Food Company, as a wholesale supplier and producer of premium quality meat, plays an important role in securing meat supplies from all over the world through multi-level supply chain planning, global investment in agriculture, support for local production and strategic international partnerships.
Topical issues of mutually beneficial partnership between Qatar and Kazakhstan were also discussed during negotiations with Omar Hussain Al-Fardan, the President and CEO of the Al-Fardan Group Holding. This holding includes enterprises of construction, auto industry, hotel business, maritime and investment sectors.
The CEO of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC Meirzhan Yusupov stressed that Kazakhstan remains highly attractive for large foreign investors.
Additionally, he said that Kazakhstan is looking forward to deepening investment cooperation with Qatar and confirmed its readiness to provide further comprehensive support in the future projects.
