Opportunities and prospects for implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan addressed in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv, on February 22, 2022 - The Embassy of Kazakhstan, with the assistance of the Israel-Kazakhstan Chamber for Commerce and Industry, organized a round table for the members of the Chamber for Commerce and Industry and Israeli companies representing various business areas.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Israel Satybaldy Burshakov in his speech made emphasis on the prospects for trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. The diplomat, having urged Israeli businessmen to strengthen their efforts in this direction, briefed the participants on the development of the situation in Kazakhstan after the “tragic January”.

In this context, he assured Israeli business circles that the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan will provide guarantees for the protection of foreign investments, the openness of the national economy and the inviolability of contracts. The Chair of the Israel-Kazakhstan Chamber for Commerce and Industry Michael Roe welcomed the normalization of the situation in Kazakhstan and the commitment of the Kazakhstan side to international obligations in the field of investment, taking into account the stability of the investment open door policy. The event was also attended by the Deputy Chair of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Zeineshev and the Regional Director of National Company Kazakh Invest Altynai Mukanova, who introduced Kazakhstan’s key economic indicators and provided details on the opportunities and prospects for the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan, paying special attention to support measures of foreign investors and development of priority sectors.   

The participants of the event also addressed the existing cooperation of Kazakhstan-Israel cooperation and its prospects, highlighting the positive nature of the development of bilateral relations in the context of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Israel in 2021 reached $264.4 million (exports - $223.7 million, imports - $40.7 million). Gross inflow of FDI for nine months of 2021 amounted to $5.3 million, net FDI flow amounted to $4.3 million. There are 151 enterprises with Israel participation registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including 93 enterprises are operating.
