Kazakhstan is open to foreign investments - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

The open door policy to foreign investment remains a strategic priority for Kazakhstan. This was announced by the President at the extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Investors’ Council, a Khabar 24 correspondent reports.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev once again stressed that the state will continue to fully fulfill its obligations and guarantees to partners and those who are ready to invest in the development of our economy. The consequences of the January unrests will not discourage from this either.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan:  

– We now understand that the January unrests caused some uncertainties for our investors. For this reason, I personally would like to clarify and talk about the future directions of our investment policy. The January crisis does not affect our commitment to the principles of a market economy, the rule of law and compliance with international and domestic obligations. On the contrary, it became a trigger for further improvements.

K. TOKAYEV: INCREASING CITIZENS’ INCOME IS CRUCIAL FOR ECONOMIC REFORM

Kazakhstan, according to the President, is currently going through a large-scale transformation, similar to the one that was in the 90s. The fundamental basis of the new course will be the rule of law, applying to everyone without exception.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

– From now on, the fundamental idea underlying economic reforms will not be abstract GDP growth figures and places in global ratings, but an increase in the income and living standards of our citizens. Of course, these goals cannot be achieved without the formation of a new class of entrepreneurs and an influx of high-quality investments. Our promise to citizens and private business is that we will avoid favoritism, favor, corruption, oligopoly. All this shall be implemented to the full extent.
