Round table on attracting foreign investments took place in Almaty city

On October 1, 2021, Almaty city hosted a round table, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Aidarov on the topic of attracting foreign investment, organized by the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty city, with the support of the Association of Turkish and Kazakh Businessmen TUKIB. The investment event took place as part of the opening ceremonies of a number of Turkish projects held from September, 29 to October, 1 in Almaty city, Almaty and Turkestan regions.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Shokybayev, the Chair of NC Kazakh Invest JSC M. Yusupov, the representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations and foreign companies accredited in Almaty city.

In his address, A. Aidarov briefed the participants on the current situation in the investment policy of Kazakhstan, outlined the importance of work to attract foreign investment, and also shared the current and priority lines of the Foreign Ministry's activities in this direction.

The event presented the results of the Ministry's activities in attracting investments in various sectors of the economy, improving the regulatory framework on protection of the interests of businesses with foreign capital and efficient dialogue between the state and investors.

Furthermore, during the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Aidarov met with the members of TUKIB.

In the course of the talks, Turkish entrepreneurs raised various issues of activities in attracting investments.

As participants noted, this event serves as a reliable platform for exchanging experience and establishing cooperation in attracting foreign direct investment.

The round table resulted in reaching the agreements on further cooperation with foreign partners and identified possible directions for further development of the investment potential of Kazakhstan and Almaty city.
