Kazakh-Brazilian Business Council

Brasilia, August 26, 2021 - the official online ceremony of signing the Memorandum took place between the Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export “QazIndustry” and the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI) to establish the Kazakhstan-Brazilian Business Council.

The Business Council was launched on the initiative of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil in order to expand economic ties between the two countries through the development of business contacts and mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazilian entrepreneurs.

During the event, the CEO of QazIndustry Berik Bekenov welcomed the current level of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil, highlighting the existing significant potential for its expansion. He stressed that the Business Council involving the leading enterprises of the two countries, can become an active platform and powerful driving force for increasing trade and strengthening investment cooperation between the two countries. The urgent need to promote Kazakhstan exports to South America and attract Brazilian investments to the region was especially emphasized during the event.

In turn, João Emilio Gonçalves, Managing Director for Industrial Cooperation of CNI, noted that the establishment of this mechanism allowing to provide major development to the entire range of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, is a historic event for mutual relations of Kazakhstan and Brazil.

The Brazilian side intends to attract all interested local companies at the site of the Business Council to realize the existing potential. The first meeting of the Business Council is scheduled for November, 2021 on the eve of the Kazakh-Brazilian Business Forum.

Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export “Qazindustry” JSC is a national coordinator of industrial development, a single operator to increase labor productivity, technological development, local content and export promotion.

Since 1938, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) has been the main representative of the Brazilian industry, uniting 27 state specialized federations, 1280 trade unions and 700,000 enterprises.
