Establishing a special team in Kazakhstan to hold talks with investors

Nur-Sultan city, April 13, 2021 - In fulfillment of the instructions of the Head of State to reform the investment management system, a special group has been established to work with potential investors - Task Force.

A joint order to establish the Task Force was signed today by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and the Governor of the Astana International Financial Center Kairat Kelimbetov. The Task Force is a special team of negotiators under the Investment Headquarters being in charge of organizing the work and setting the agenda of the Investment Headquarters. It will provide end-to-end support of projects from the development process and structuring to the launch of the investment project.

To date, the initial composition of the team has been formed comprising of employees of KAZAKH INVEST and the AIFC as permanent members. The Task Force will also involve employees of the Central Geographical Society, local executive agencies, financial institutions, the quasi-public sector and Atameken, as well as representatives of the Embassies of Kazakhstan abroad.

Particular projects being under development with investors will be submitted for consideration by the Investment Headquarters chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The task of the Investment Headquarters is to make a managerial decision to ensure special conditions for the investor and to sign the Strategic Investment Agreement as part of the Law on Economic Growth Recovery, which entered into force on January, 16 this year (signed on December 2, 2020).
