Swiss investors are invited to invest in Kazakhstan's infrastructure
The investment opportunities of the Kazakhstan infrastructure industry were presented to Swiss investors within the framework of a webinar organized by the Swiss Export and Investment Promotion Center Switzerland Global Enterprise.
The webinar was attended by managers and representatives of about 100 Swiss companies, including АВВ, Bombardier Transportation (Switzerland) AG, Sika Services AG, MAN Energy Solutions Schweiz AG, Inoks Capital SA, Militzer & Münch AG, Siemens Mobility SP, Burckhardt Compression, SWISSMEM and others.
In his welcoming speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Switzerland Alibek Bakayev stressed that improving the investment climate and developing infrastructure are the strategic directions of the work of the Government of Kazakhstan. The speaker informed the participants of the event about the possibilities of investment cooperation and government measures to support investors.
“Large infrastructure projects being implemented in Kazakhstan are of great business interest for the Swiss side, both at the government level and from the business side. In particular, the Swiss side notes the potential of the Nurly Zhol Infrastructure Development Program and shows interest in participating in projects through Public-Private Partnerships,” said Alibek Bakayev.
At the same time, Azamat Kozhanov, a representative of NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC also addressed the webinar. The speaker introduced the investors to the opportunities for foreign companies to participate in the implementation of infrastructure projects and presented a number of promising projects currently being implemented in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan is now actively developing its infrastructure projects, including in order to improve the country's transit potential. In addition to the state programs such as Nurly Zhol, the hospital program and other PPP initiatives, there is a set of other commercial transport and logistics projects. Among them - the development of seaports, projects of SEZ, ICBC Khorgos, tourism, etc. These commercial projects were presented to the conference participants. Including a number of companies presented their success stories in the implementation of investment projects in the agro-industrial complex and infrastructure”- said Azamat Kozhanov.
Following the event, businessmen expressed interest in the possibilities of developing cooperation and the conditions offered by the Kazakh side, including within the framework of Special Economic Zones, and expressed their readiness to discuss the implementation of joint projects on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
