A. Mamin visited the UAE: investment agreements worth $ 2.2 billion signed
As part of this working trip to Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Askar Mamin held talks with the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Emir of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The parties discussed the progress in implementing the agreements reached earlier and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, financial and investment, transport and logistics, agro-industrial, tourism, space, mining and metallurgical, energy and other areas. The Prime Minister also met with the UAE business captains - the leadership of the state holding Mubadala, Aldar Properties, ADQ, Al Dahra Holding, International Holdings Company (Royal Group).
The negotiations resulted in signing of 17 intergovernmental and commercial agreements between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UAE on the implementation of joint projects to build poultry farms and dairy farms, fruits and mushrooms production and processing, cooperation in the mining and metallurgical industries and geological exploration, to establish an Industrial Park in the industrial zone of Ekibastuz city, Katon-Karagai tourist complex in East Kazakhstan region, as well as to establish in Kazakhstan plants for production of components for electric vehicles.
The UAE will participate in the implementation of water supply and sewerage projects in Karaganda region intended to transfer the advanced technologies and subsequent localization of production in Kazakhstan.
A joint fund with a total capital of $100 million will be established by Kazakhstan and the UAE to fund the projects in the agro-industrial complex.
Cooperation in the E-Banking will be promoted at the AIFC site.
The total investment in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for these projects will amount to about $2.2 billion. Investment projects intend to create new industries with high added value and profitability, as well as with great demand potential both in the domestic and promising foreign markets. Their implementation will ensure to create new high-quality jobs in Kazakhstan, introduce advanced technologies and practices.
As part of expanding air links between the two countries, the Emirati low-cost airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will launch regular passenger air transportation on the Abu Dhabi - Almaty and Abu Dhabi - Nur-Sultan in May this year.
A. Mamin laid flowers at the memorial to the Heroes of the UAE “Wahat Al-Karama”, got acquainted with the ongoing projects on the territory of the eco-city “Masdar City” and visited Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
In Dubai, the Head of the Government held negotiations with the leadership of the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and the Dubai Investment Corporation to discuss further prospects for the development of financial and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE, including at the AIFC site.
The working trip was attended by the head of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms - AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov, the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, the Minister of Agriculture - Saparkhan Omarov, the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources - Magzum Mirzagaliev, the Minister of Justice - Marat Beketayev, Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov, Akim of Karaganda region Zhenis Kasymbek, the Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Aidar Arifkhanov, representatives of business circles of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
