Kazakhstan and India economic cooperation
India remains one of the key trade, economic and investment partners of Kazakhstan in South Asia. In 2005-2018 India invested USD 317 million in the economy of Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan continues to further strengthen the cooperation with the Indian business community and business in order to attract new investors.
The proof of this is the simultaneous visit of 8 Indian companies, including 5 transnational to participate in the XII Astana Economic Forum and the III Global Investment Roundtable where a number of significant agreements were reached.
One of the successful results of bilateral agreements can rightly be called the construction of a family entertainment park like “Disney Land” in Shymkent. The project will include the construction of an amusement park, an aqua park, an indoor entertainment center, a hotel, a spa, a cottage town, a nature park, a golf club.
The investor of this project is the owner of a large conglomerate “CG Corp Global” Binod Chaudhary who also expressed interest in building a tourist complex in Almaty similar to world-class parks.
RV Healthcare intends to launch the production of antidiabetic drugs. In the case of this project, Kazakhstan will provide 100% import substitution with this drug and be able to become the main insulin supplier in the region.
At the same time, negotiations are underway with a number of Indian companies to attract them to the mining, agricultural and other industries.
Over the past 5 months of 2019, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan has identified about 10 new projects with the participation of potential Indian investors.
Thus, the Indian business today demonstrates a noticeable activity and interest in the economy of Kazakhstan. In turn, economic diplomacy will continue to increase bilateral cooperation, using the developed mechanism of work.
