European businessmen confirmed their interest in investment cooperation with Kazakhstan
The 24-th session of the Berlin Eurasian Club took place in Brussels, correspondent of Khabar 24 informs.
Created 12 years ago on the initiative of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the forum became an authoritative dialogue platform for discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation. The topic of this meeting is «New Silk Road: Kazakhstan as an Important Transport, Transit and Power Hub between Europe and Asia». It was attended by over 50 representatives of European companies, economic, financial and scientific organizations of the EU and Kazakhstan.
Opening the session of the Berlin Eurasian Club, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in the Federal Republic of Germany Bolat Nussupov briefed on the development priorities of the country, stated in the Address of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Kazakhstani People. One of tasks is to increase the role of Kazakhstan as a continental transport-logistical crossing intersection on the new Silk Road, - Kazakhstan diplomat said.
Bolat Nussupov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federal Republic of Germany:
- There are very interesting offers concerning cooperation of Kazakhstan and Germany, as well as Kazakhstan and the European Union. And following the session, it could already be seen that there is great interest, and that Kazakhstan is considered as an important energy and transport-transit hub of Eurasia.
Kurmangazy Iskaziyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas:
- Today we are implementing the largest projects of Tengiz, Kashagan, Karachaganak, as well as some sea projects, and we work with the European companies. We have seen the work of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to improve the investment attractions of Kazakhstan. The new Code recently adopted by Mazhilis on subsurface resources allows us to simplify considerably the process of granting of contracts for subsoil use related to prospecting and mining.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Belgium and Luxembourg, the head Representative Office at the EU and NATO Aigul Kuspan briefed participants of the forum on the results of the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Brussels, his meetings with leaders of the EU and countries of Asia and Europe, as well as with representatives of the European business. The initiatives of the Kazakhstan leader that he put forward during his performance at the 12-th summit ASEM aroused a high interest of participants of the session. The Head of the Central Asian Countries Administration of the European External Action Service (EEAS) Boris Yaroshevich highly evaluated the participation of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the forum Asia-Europe and results of his meeting with the Head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. He emphasized that Kazakhstan is the country of the region the EU concluded the Enhanced Partnership Agreement with and noted that Kazakhstan is the key player in the future implementation of the EU Interrelationship Development Strategy with Asia.
Michael Harms, Executive Director of German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations:
- We evaluate very positively our bilateral cooperation. Our mutual trade turnover grew considerably over the last and this year. Development of the railway transportation is very interesting project from Kazakhstan. This is Khorgos -East as the East Gate along the New Silk Road. I think that this is very interesting, you see if there is logistics there will be production.
