Six Kazakhstan-Chinese investment projects to be launched in 2018

These are projects in sectors of infrastructure, construction, agrarian and industrial complex, mechanical engineering and chemical industry

At the reporting back meeting to the population, the Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek told about the progress of implementation of joint Kazakhstan-Chinese investment projects, as reported by the correspondent of the business information center Kapital.kz, with the reference to the press-service of the institution.

«Joint projects will be implemented practically in all regions of Kazakhstan. 11 projects worth US $7 billion are now under construction, including 6 projects are expected to be launched in 2018. These are projects in the sectors of infrastructure, construction, agrarian and industrial complex, mining-and-metallurgical complex, mechanical engineering and chemical industry. Successful implementation of these projects will allow the creation of tens of thousands of jobs», - Zhenis Kasymbek said.

Now the List of joint Kazakhstan-Chinese investment projects includes 51 projects to the total amount of US $27,7 billion. Already today, 4 projects worth US $143 million have been implemented in Pavlodar, Kostanai and North-Kazakhstan regions in the sectors of mechanical engineering, oil refining, chemical, food-processing industry and logistics.

Within the framework of the conducted work that aims at attracting of investors into the priority sectors of the economy, the Ministry has formed the portfolio of implemented investment projects and those being developed for 2018−2020, that included 140 projects with foreign participation (US $43,8 billion).

Also, on behalf of the head of the state, the Government has developed new approaches to promote the investments in the economy which are reflected in the National Investment Strategy.
