Negotiations with the largest South Korean companies take place as part of the investment week in Seoul
Negotiations between the Kazakhstan delegation, chaired by Vice-Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arystan Kabikenov and the largest South Korean companies on boosting of economic cooperation are held in Seoul.
Our delegation includes Deputy Akim of Kostanai region Meirzhan Myrzaliyev, Head of “Kazakhstan Center of Public-Private Partnership” JSC Azamat Oynarov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of NC “Kazakh Invest” Rustam Isatayev, representatives of National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna”, NC “KTZh-Express” JSC, “KazAgro” JSC, etc.
Today, members of the Kazakhstan delegation discussed issues of cooperation with Deputy Chairman of the Association of Energy and Mineral Resources of Korea Sang Woon Han.
“Recently, we have been very actively cooperating with the Embassy of Kazakhstan and “KazGeology” JSC. We hope that as a result of this work our companies will find interesting projects in the mining sector of Kazakhstan”, - Sang Woon Han said.
During this trip to Korea, the dialogue was also held on the exchange of experiences in the management and legislative control of special economic zones, the opportunities of SEZ “East Cost” were presented that has been operating since 2013 in the mining sector, in logistics, green economy and other perspective areas.
Besides, on the first day of the investment week, meetings took place with the management of the largest Korean TNCs: Noroo Kiban, Highvill and POSCO ICT.
So, issues of investment in some building projects in regions of Kazakhstan were discussed at the meeting with Chairman of the Board of Highvill.
«For 14 years we have been doing business in Kazakhstan and I’d like to take this opportunity to express gratitude for such support. I think that we successfully implemented our building business. Our company intends to continue further this activity. Our experience in the Republic of Kazakhstan is really a good example for the activity of other Korean companies in Kazakhstan”, - Koh Jae-il said.
In turn, Noroo Kiban Company is interested in investing in the projects of agricultural sector, chemical industry using the newest information-communication technologies. So, at the meeting Deputy Akim of Kostanai region Meirzhan Myrzaliyev proposed to consider the possibility of investing in the projects of the region.
The possibilities of investing in IT infrastructure, automatization, Smart City were discussed at the meeting with the first Vice-President of POSCO ICT, Lee Chan Bok.
«Just 20 hours ago we met with the Ambassador of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan, and he was surprised that cooperation with the South Korean IT companies, especially with such company as POSCO, hasn’t been reinforced at an appropriate level. We are interested in cooperation with your company”, - said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Invest Rustam Isatayev in the conversation with the first Vice-President of POSCO ICT.
Numerous meetings with the South Korean companies as well as the business-forum are planned to hold as part of the investment week in Seoul.
