The President of Kazakhstan met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif
A set of bilateral meetings of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the sidelines of the CICA Summit continued with negotiations with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif. The sides discussed the prospects for Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation in trade, economic and investment sectors.
The Head of State expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for visiting Astana city to participate in the CICA Summit and supporting Kazakhstan’s initiatives aimed at further institutional development of the Forum.
The President described Pakistan as one of the key partners of Kazakhstan in South Asia. He expressed his satisfaction in respect of the dynamics of the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
They highlighted the prospects for establishing cooperation in transport, transit-logistics, and energy sectors. It was considered crucial to resume direct flights between the countries as soon as possible, as well as to strengthen efforts of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade, Economic, Cultural, Humanitarian and Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
In turn, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif conveyed to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the greetings from Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi and stressed that relations between the countries are developing progressively.
