A Kazakhstan investor builds wholesale distribution center in East Kazakhstan region
Kazakhstani company Naryn-Sauda-OPT LLP started implementing an investment project to construct a wholesale distribution center Altai in Ust-Kamenogorsk city. The project is being implemented with the participation of SEC Ertis JSC. WDC will be located near the Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk highway.
According to the investors, the total cost of construction, taking into account the installation of modern equipment, will be KZT14.3 billion. The investment project involves the construction of two vegetable stores with a total area of 20,000 square meters, with capacity to store 45,000 tons of products, a cross-dock with a total area of 2,160 square meters, as well as a complex of administrative facilities.
“Each vegetable store will consist of two sections. The first section will locate a temporary storage warehouse with ventilation equipment without temperature control with a load of up to 5,000 tons. The second section is a long-term storage warehouse with refrigeration equipment with a capacity of up to 17,500 tons,” the company notes.
The project meets Dutch technology to store products using pallets, in order to provide high-quality specialized services, ranging from storage and processing to distribution and marketing of products. This method ensures long-term and efficient storage as well as fast goods dispatch. The cross-dock system will be equipped with modern loading equipment, an automatic fire extinguishing system, video surveillance, as well as information monitors containing up-to-date product information.
“The implementation of this project provides a lot of benefits for local farmers. They are the following: increasing the competitiveness of local products, increasing the share of domestic production in the food market of Kazakhstan, new opportunities for exporting goods, growing labor productivity and financial well-being of the local population,” said Nartai Beisekov, Regional Director of KAZAKH INVEST in East Kazakhstan region.
Moreover, they highlight that the project aims to provide effective interregional redistribution of products, price stabilization, import substitution, legalization of the shadow turnover of agricultural products, creation of national technologies for the storage and processing of food products, as well as the creation of a single information accounting system of flows of agricultural products and forecasting.
