Prime Minister Askar Mamin held talks with foreign investors
Prime Minister Askar Mamin met with representatives of major foreign investors - Blackrock, Capital Group, Aberdeen Asset Management, Sands Capital, Luxor Capital and Lugard Road Capital. The meeting took place at the Astana International Financial Center.
It discussed Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities and prospects for expanding the foreign capital presence in the country and the region. Special attention was paid to the infrastructure of the Astana International Financial Center, that is unique for the region.
The Head of Government highlighted the growing investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan alongside with the confident recovery dynamics of the economy.
Following the results of ten months of this year, GDP growth accelerated to 3.5%. The highest rates of recovery were achieved in construction (+ 7.6%), processing industry (+ 5.3%) and services (+ 3.4%).
Against the background of active economic recovery, there is an increase in the inflow of foreign direct investment. So, according to the results of the first half of 2021, the volume of FDI in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan increased by 30.4% and amounted to $ 11.1 billion. The volume of investments in the financial sector increased by 12.1%.
Representatives of foreign companies stressed that one of the positive signals for foreign investors was the successful IPO of Kaspi.kz on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and AIX in 2020. At the same time, they especially emphasized the role of foreign capital in implementing the ESG principles and decarbonization, taking into account current global trends.
Moreover, the meeting considered the prospects of implementing the State Assets Privatization Program of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh side was represented by the Chair of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms - AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov, the Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry - Bagdat Musin, the CEO of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Almasadam Satkaliyev and others.
