Roman Sklyar discussed joint environmental protection projects with German companies
On August, 31 this year Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar held regular online meeting with the leadership of German companies to discuss bilateral economic projects in the environmental protection and water resources.
The German side was represented by Oliver Hermes, Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, and Berger Miguel, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. The online meeting was attended by about 100 leading German companies, including Siemens, BASF, Henkel AG & Co. KgaA, WILO SE, LLP C. Spaarmann, Becker Mining Europe GmbH, Svevind Energy GmbH, Robert Bosch.
In his speech, Roman Sklyar highlighted successful cooperation in implementing joint projects in industrial production, mechanical engineering, energy, renewable energy sources, etc., and also expressed the readiness of the Kazakh side to foster cooperation in ecology and natural resources. German companies were invited to cooperate in such sectors as combating climate change, waste disposal, combating the environmental disaster associated with the draining of the Aral Sea, as well as drinking water supply.
The meeting was followed by a discussion of the measures to implement these issues.
