Askar Mamin got acquainted with of large investment projects implementation in East Kazakhstan region
Askar Mamin was informed of the implementation of large investment projects of East Kazakhstan region, a correspondent of Khabar 24 reports.
They include production in the sectors of the agro-industrial complex, healthcare and mining metallurgy. The Prime Minister instructed to increase the pace of road construction work, noting the importance of timely commissioning of the transport infrastructure. In Ayagoz district, the Prime Minister visited the KAZ Minerals Aktogay company. This year, they plan to complete the construction of the Aktogay II Sulphide Ore Processing Plant. The implementation of the project will increase the amount of copper production up to 200,000 tons by 2027 making the mine one of the world’s largest one.
In Semey, the Prime Minister has launched a sunflower seed processing plant. The company has created over 300 permanent jobs. It is expected that the plant will meet the country's domestic demand for vegetable oil, and its products will also be exported to foreign markets. Then, Askar Mamin visited the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Center, the only full-cycle nuclear medicine facility in Kazakhstan. They produce radiopharmaceuticals, and also provide radionuclide therapy for patients.
