Kazakhstan presented “National Investment Strategy” at the World Bank Forum

The delegation of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chaired by the Vice-Minister Erlan Khairov is participating in the Investment Competitiveness Forum of the World Bank in Vein city (the Republic of Austria).

The forum provides a good opportunity to inform the international community about successful measures taken on reforming the investment climate of Kazakhstan and the forthcoming reforms, planned within the framework of the “National investment strategy”.

At the same time, during the Forum, the Vice-Minister Erlan Khairov had bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign countries and international organizations.

So, the meeting took place with Fatou Haidara, UNIDO Managing Director for Policy and Program Support. The meeting discussed issues of implementation of joint projects, expertise of Kazakhstan programs by UNIDO, and also the future joint projects.

The meeting with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) allowed for an exchange of views, where the Vice-Minister informed of the work done to attract the investors, the adopted investment strategy, plans for privatization, PPP, and also opening of Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

The Austrian party presented the technologies of the Austrian companies, offered the services in creation of transport infrastructure, development of smart cities, and also new technologies.

Also, bilateral meetings took place with representatives of Myanmar, Kenya, Tunis, Ghana, Georgia and Mongolia, where foreign delegates were informed of the measures taken to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan, taking into account the practice and recommendations of OECD.
