Kazakhstan-Slovenian business forum is being held in Astana city

Kazakhstan-Slovenian business forum is being held with the support of Kazakh Invest in Astana, attending by over 60 representatives of business circles of two countries.

The Vice-Minister of Health Care of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Tsoy, the President of Kazakhstan-Slovenian business club Deyan Shtantser welcomed the participants at the opening of the forum.

In his speech Deyan Shtantser said that Slovenia is in the center of Europe and shares borders with Austria, Italy, Hungary and Croatia. This means that Slovenia is a bridge between the North and the South, the West and the East and, the important fact is that it has access to the open sea. At the same time, Slovenia is a member of all the most important world organizations, including the OECD and the EEC.

Managing Director of NC Kazakh Invest JSC Erik Yakubayev spoke about Kazakhstan’s investment opportunities and called on Slovene businessmen to consider the investment projects in the regions of the Republic.

Also, Slovenian investor Seven Refractories, CEO of AHA Hyperbarics (HBOT) Peter Kokalj spoke during the forum.

The Forum resulted in the ceremony of registration and opening of the office of Kazakhstan-Slovenian business club in Astana.

 

For reference: Bilateral trade turnover for January-October, 2017 accounted for US $97,2 million (export - US $25,2 million, import - US $72 million). Slovenia imports to Kazakhstan rapid steel, soluble food supplements, iron, electric equipment and utilities, mining equipment, office devices, products of mechanical engineering, cameras and photodevices, toys and sports facilities, stone products, cement, furniture and clothes. Export from Kazakhstan to Slovenia includes cotton, iron and steel, phenol ketone, electrical equipment and components. The Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation (IGC) functions. The third session of the IGC was held on October 20-21, 2016, in Ljubljana.
