Perspective investment projects of Kazakhstan are presented to Qatari Sheik

With the support of Kazakh Invest, the Qatar business-delegation chaired by the Chairman of the Qatari Association of Entrepreneurs Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani visited Almaty and Astana cities where they familiarized with investment projects in Kazakhstan. This very trip was the return visit of the Qatar business-delegation after the meeting with representatives of Kazakh Invest in Doha this April.

Business meetings were held with major Kazakhstan companies and holdings in Astana and Almaty cities. Kazakh Invest presented to the Qatari delegations the concrete investment projects for review.

In Almaty, Gettco Construction Division, the largest Qatar building company expressed its interest in implementation of projects in the sphere of commercial real estate and hotel business, presented by the Almaty companies. Eurasia Holding presented its investment projects in the metallurgy, development and agriculture. Al Sawari of Qatar was presented with the project on construction of the large thematic park near Almaty.

In Astana, entrepreneurs of Qatar met with the Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Invest Saparbek Tuyakbayev. At the meeting, Kazakhstan entrepreneurs told about projects in the sectors of agro-industrial complex, tourism, petrochemistry and metallurgy.

So, the project on reconstruction and modernization of the sports and entertainment complex Tabaga was presented to the Qatar investors in order to increase the capacity up to 5,000 persons a day. The business delegation familiarized with the project on construction of the oil refinery in South-Kazakhstan region for the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials up to 2 million tons for producing the grade 5 engine oil and petrochemical products.

Entrepreneurs of Qatar expressed their interest in the project on deep processing of turkey meat up to 100,000 tons per year. They also discussed the prospects of cooperation with “BI Group” and “KTZ Express” companies.

The arrangements reached during the visit of the business-delegation of Qatar will be actively studied during the next months. So, a business-trip of the Kazakhstan delegation to Qatar will be organized in the near future. Besides, entrepreneurs of Qatar are going to visit some regions of Kazakhstan in order to study in details the investment opportunities of the regions.
