Forum in Aktau brought together foreign investors

Foreign investors are ready to implement new projects in special economic zones (SEZ) of our country.

That was announced at the international forum in Aktau. Participants were told about special conditions of residents of SEZ and were presented successful projects which have already been implemented.  

There are almost 160 investment start-ups in the territory of SEZ of Kazakhstan including 20 % are foreign ones. Over 11,000 people are involved.

 The special economic zone “Morport Aktau” is focused on oil-and-gas and building areas.

Guests from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the USA, Hungary and other countries expressed their interest in the event.

The meeting resulted in signing of 6 memorandums in oil and gas, transport and logistics areas.  

Sarin Kristonton, a representative of Tenaris Company:

- We produce pipes with gas-proof threaded connection of a premium class for the oil-and-gas branch. One of our projects is successfully working in SEZ “Morport Aktau”. It is worth US $40 million. It is very convenient to work owing to the policy of SEZ. In the future we would like to launch more projects there.

Birzhan Kaneshev, Deputy Chairman of Board of “NC “Kazakh Invest” JSC:

- Today we will sign the agreement with Mangistau SEZ concerning management of the international transnational company DP World. It is the company which in the world has 77,000 points of presence, and can take our SEZ to the high level of management and make all procedures transparent and comfortable.
