Good work

Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan commended East Kazakhstan region on the excellent work in implementing the investment projects.

At a meeting which took place in Ust-Kamenogorsk within the framework of the republican forum of rural akims, the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov said that East Kazakhstan cooperates actively with international financial institutions, and also conducts good work within the public-private partnership.

For today in the region there are 168 projects of public-private partnership worth over KZT160 billion at different stages of implementation, they cover various branches and areas of economy, such as education, health care, physical training and sports, housing and communal utilities and transport infrastructure. 9 agreements, including 6 credit contracts and three preliminary agreements have been signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development totaling KZT40,5 billion, the share of participation of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan makes up KZT7,8 billion. Among large projects - modernization of water supply and water removal systems in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey cities, installation of street lighting systems and others.

- The serious work is now being undertaken by the region and it should be continued, - Timur Suleimenov said. - It is also necessary to use the credit resources of the Asian Bank for Development which has softened the crediting strategy, it intends to work with the private sector, and also to provide loans in the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
